If data is available, this is where you find Ecoregion Descriptions, Plant Communities of that ecoregion, and Species Lists/Recommendations for both. If you know the community types at your project site, use community recommendations as the species will be more appropriate and more specifically geared to your site.
If species recommendations are not available for your project area, try searching seed for sale in your ecoregion.
Driftless Area Ecoregion
The hilly uplands of the Driftless Area easily distinguish it from surrounding ecoregions. Much of the area consists of a deeply dissected, loess-capped, bedrock dominated plateau. The region is also called the Paleozoic Plateau because the landscapes appearance is a result of erosion through rock strata of Paleozoic age. Although there is evidence of glacial drift in the region, the influence of the glacial deposits have done little to affect the landscape compared to the subduing influences in adjacent ecoregions. Livestock and dairy farming are major land uses and have had a major impact on stream quality.
