This release is not currently available in the marketplace

SymbolELTR7
Release NameAdanac
Release Typecultivar
DescriptionPlants and seeds of Adanac are similar to those of Revenue except that Adanac is taller and has a lower leaf to stem ratio. Adanac averaged 7% higher yield than Revenue in hay yields during seven cooperative trials based on three- and four-year averages (23 station-years). Establishment, persistence, and productivity under saline conditions was superior to Revenue as measured in replicated trials conducted in the greenhouse and on a soil salinity gradient near Langham, Saskatchewan. Seed yields of adanac averaged 4% higher than Revenue based on four trial locations (19 station-years). Digestibility and protein content of hay are somewhat below those of Revenue. This may be attributed in part to a lower leaf to stem ratio and somewhat taller growth habit. Compared to Revenue, Adanac offers superior yield performance for the lighter textured, drier soil areas, superior salinity tolerance, and indicated somewhat more ease of establishment.
